best slugs for remington 870

i have a remington 870 12ga express mag with 24" vented rib cantilever barrel
and i was a good slug to use in it that hold a good group at 100 yards and leaves a good blood trail.

I assume you do not have a smooth bore? If you have a rifled barrel, I would try the Winchester 2-3/4" "BRI" sabot! Don't be fooled by the 2-3/4 inch, this slug is the most accurate slug I have ever shot in my gun. I also have tried the copper soild but it doesn't perform in the woods scenario. Took a buck at 140 on the run and a doe at 100 standing in the deep woods this year with no drop at all, leupold scoped of course! Good luck and shoot straight!

my 870 shoots the federal barns expanders the best. I use the 2 3/4" 1oz load.

The best advice i can give you is to spend the cash and buy a few boxes of different brand slugs. Shoot
them all, And see witch ones your gun likes best. Its the only way you will ever know. Good luck.

The same principle goes for paterning how a shotgun shoots buckshot, Ive seen alot that goupd oo better than 000. Some that shoot #1 Buck better than all others. BTW, for buckshot 2 3/4 inch shells shoot the shot faster than 3" shells. (Same amount of powder in both but more shot=more weight in the 3" means its travels slower) .
