Barrett .50 cal

Postby Robert Rowland » Fri Sep 26, 2008 4:57 pm

I know this is not a deer hunting rifle (except for the guy with the 950 yard shot) but I dropped by a local gun shop today and found a Barrett sniper rifle sitting on the counter.  I did not realize that they could be purchased in the private sector.
By the way, the price was $7,999.00
Not sure what the ammo costs.

Well at least scent control wouldn't be an issue.

...and just think how much gas $$ you would save by not having to drive to your hunting area!

Good point, I could set on top my house and hunt the fields across the highway from our subdivision.  Nieghbors might not appreciate it much.  [:D]

950y? you can hit that with a good 308...the M107 AKA Barrett .50 has a range of over 1500m with a record shot of 2500m along....

I was referring to a thread on this site that ruffled some feathers. It was a video of a guy shooting a deer with a .50 cal at 950 yards.
