i got my last october deer back last saturday morning, and was curious to see what it would "score" so i went to the boone and crockett site where it takes you step by step thru the measuring and adds the numbers up for you and came up with a gross of 141 3/8 and a net of 137 1/4(granted it's very unofficial)

I had my first "worthy" buck ever, mounted by a very qualified guy outside Oregon, WI (south of Madison). My wife hates it in the family room ... I love it!! Above my bar amongst all my Packer/Brewer/Badger stuff.

My 2011 mount and the 2010 sheds mounted onto one of those plastic skulls. Turns out the deer would have scored higher in 2010, but it is definitely the same deer. Now that I have the sheds, I wish I would have had him aged and weighed. The taxidermist said he had the biggest cape of any deer he did this year, but far from the biggest antlers. Given that his antlers went downhill, I gotta believe he might have been older than the four years we thought. We thought he was four because we had pics of him at what we thought were two and three years old. Who knows, I just know it adds to the fun when a deer has history.

PG ... how cool is that, that you have the sheds of the big feller and then the next year harvested the deer??? I think that's neat. Maybe (perhaps) you aged the big boy correctly, he just had a poor 2011 as far as nutrition and minerals went that year. Don't know just a guess. Nice mount anyways and cool story.
