Who can tell me what are the best fruit trees to plant in the South (Southern Alabama) for attracting Deer? Has anyone in the South actually witnessed Deer in the wild going after certain fruits? I know up North apples work but down South I've heard all kinds of recommendations. I plan on planting a few in early spring.
Sawtooth oaks, nutall oaks, plums, pears, crabapples, chestnuts, chinquapins, pecans, wild persimmons, kewi persimmons. I think deer will eat almost any kind of hard or soft mast.
