Postby Jslotter » Thu Sep 13, 2012 4:41 pm

Usually Goose starts this, but I haven't seen that guy here in a long time. Post your 2012 deer hunting stories and pics here. Good luck to all of you! Stay safe and have fun this year...

Let's keep this going!
Always a good time to see how people are doing, what activity is up to. Hunting Chippewa County on saturday morning, and Eau Claire county public land on sunday morning. Anybody else getting pretty antsy for saturday morning?

Don't think I'll get out this weekend. Family reunion that will require half a day on the road, and my brother is moving so I'll spend Sunday with him before he's gone till who knows when.
Really hard to miss opening weekend, but family comes first.

Good luck to everyone who goes out!!

Spent the morning in the woods with my ol grandpa. He got a basket rack 10 pointer at 8:30, I got a basket 6 at 9. We got his recovered around 11 and then went to go get mine. The blood trail was thick and then it just dried up and stopped. No sign of him. Looked like a good shot. I just don't know. Ill be hard at it again tomorrow. We spent about 3 hours looking for him. It's a heartbreaker, but its a long season!

Keep fighting, guys.

Weekend warrior, where did you loose the trail? Woods? Grass? Near water?ect...
The only real difference between a good tracker and a bad tracker is observation. All the same data is present for both. The rest is understanding what you are seeing.
