Nov. 2011 buck

This buck was a fair chase taken with a crossbow in mid-ohio. Also, my first buck.

danlap82288, nice buck and welcome to the forum. We are kinda detail driven folks. 
Where do you hunt (if you say outdoors, that's my line) what were the conditions, range, weapon, any scent lures. decoys? Solo hunt or with a group? Did it drop in it's tracks, or 400 yards away from impact? As I also use a crossbow, I expect it dropped within 50 yards. Was this on public lands, or private, You say "fair Chase" so I assume no high fences. Fixed blades or mechanicals? Details?

The only real difference between a good tracker and a bad tracker is observation. All the same data is present for both. The rest is understanding what you are seeing.

Yes, where in Ohio (that's where I hunt) and score.

I had him scored yesterday. 141 5/8 typical, 159 non-typ. He's the newest member of the Buckeye Big Buck club!

Wow, that is a heck of a first buck! It may be a while before you top that one. They're out there, but you can expect to see more under that size than over it. Good luck this Fall. I hope you get a bigger buck that that one.
