Wow, that's awesome...Good luck and let us know how the scouting goes!

I speed scouted it this morning. My map recon had pointed me to an inside corner, but I found a stand already there. I ended up hanging a stand that overlooks a big CRP field. It should be great for calling and decoys.

I called the landowner about the stand on the inside corner. He said I could use it, but I am not sure how I feel about that.

Hot weather here today. I plan to hunt the CRP in the morning.

I smoked my biggest ever doe last year on Halloween night. at my in-laws farm.  There have been some weird stories about mysterious cattle mutilations on the farm in years past, but I'm not too concerned.

Awesome great job on the big buck wish i would have had more luck but my uncle was building near my stand on a rifle blind.
saw eight does sprint and clear the road that i was still hunting.
if they wouldn't have been sprinting then i would have got ashot off[:(]
they ran across the road right behind me at 20-25 yards

Thanks archery nut I was proud of him. Seen several small bucks this week that I'd been passing on with the hopes that it would pay off in the long run. Finally the plan came together and he gave me a good shot at about 7:30 this morning. Been on vacation all week with today being the last day before I had to go back to work. It was a great week. Saw lots of deer, took 2 mature does and the 11 pt. no complaints............Except that I have to go back to work!!![:@]

My buddy got an 8 point earlier today.  I was going to go up this morning and hunt, but did not.  Big mistake I made i feel.  I guess I'm going to go up in a few hours.  Now's the time to be in the woods.  Bucks in the Northern part of the US are reacting to calls...although the breeding phase isn't in full swing they are responding.  Their guard is coming down fast.  GL to all, hope to post something tomorrow.
