I put the Nikon SlugHunter with the BDC reticle on my Mossberg 12 ga 500 slugster. I love it.

I watched one go on clearance in the display case at my local Wal-Mart (they built a newer sort of better store in town)... I finally broke down and picked it up when it hit $199.99.... I think they're more than that new, but definitely worth it. I put it on with the see through bases, so I can still use my iron sights for close shots. I killed a doe at 50 yards as she crested the edge of the creek bank at a brisk walk... quartering away I was able to put my slug through the back of the ribcage, through the heart and out the brisket.

I also love the Nikon Slug Hunter. It will probably cost $250, but is worth every penny. Nikon has great software for bullet drop compensation to go with thier scopes.

If you are looking for something cheaper, try a Bushnell Banner. I use the 3X9. It works great and holds its zero.

Good luck!
