I thought, since we've done it in the past, that it would be good to separate our pictures from our hunting reports. Please post your 2012 harvest pictures below. Good luck this year!

not the biggest 7 pointer(missing a brow tine) but dragging it 150 yards thru stomach high saw grass it sure felt like it

got to my treestand about 5pm....at 6:30pm all i had seen was half a dozen LOUD gray squirrels ..........the buck came in around 6:40pm and stood within 30 yards of my treestand facing me for 10 minutes listening and looking at all the noise(at 1 point a gray squirrel tried climbing the tree that i was in).........finally work his way to 20 yards away but was behind a tree when he decided to turn and walk away.......at 30 yards he was broadside so i took the shot,lost the arrow halfway to him,but the way he took off crashing thru brush(could hear him going for 20-30 seconds)......thought i hit high and center little closer to front leg then the back leg which ended up not being true(not thrilled about that) looked at my phone and it was 6:57pm....

waited till this morning to go look for him and with most gut shots their wasnt alot of blood,then we came to the stomach high grass field(oh that was fun)....me and my dad worked our way out their and after awhile couldnt find anything so we moved about 20 yards apart looking when i found blood so i told him and turned back looked about 15 yards away and went "and i also have the deer as well"

no way to get the rack over top of the grass so it would catch on EVERYTHING and the field was loaded with grassy dirt mounds so about every 2-3 steps you'd land sideways on one and just about fall over

Bigfoot, nicely played!!

Any shot and recovered deer is a trophy deer and you should be proud. By your story (great story with your dad!!) it wasn't the bestest of shot placements but smarts (waited until the next day) and persistance helped you recover that deer.

I'm 56 and my son is 32. I look more forward to helping my son recover his deer than I do shooting one of my own. It is the joy of being a dad!! How great that you two got to share that and you were successful. A great hunt and a great recovery.

Well done, Bigfoot! I have been there and done that with walking and dragging deer through those mounds of grass. Not fun....But well worth it!
