Because of the drought we didn't plant our turnips until Aug 29th. The second picture shows what the plots looked like after two weeks, the first (larger) picture shows what happened in another two weeks. Last weekend we had over 200 pictures of does and fawns in our three turnip plots on our 120 acres in two weeks. All does and fawns for now, but where the lasies are ... the boys are sure to follow.
We seldom get bucks on the fields until mid-October and then mostly at night. By Halloween ... lookout ... git on yer stand!!
We're real please how the turnips have shot up in 4 weeks, given the summer's conditions.

The only real difference between a good tracker and a bad tracker is observation. All the same data is present for both. The rest is understanding what you are seeing.

Someone should show some of these picture posters how to resize their pictures. It is really trying to look at some of them.

that looks like a really old buck bouhntr... Not a ton of mass, but kind of gnarly. I like the "swoopiness" to his G2's. Are his brow tines broken off?

Had this feller on camera when we got up to the property this weekend. Where we hunt (Necedah) coupled with the pressure from the surrounding properties (who shoot anything that moves), this isn't a bad buck (for us). We're not the Drury's or Lakoski's and we don't have the choices to pass up or to shoot 3, 4 or 5 year old deer. It just doesn't work like that on heavily hunted properties around us and lower deer densities like we see. That stuff looks good for selling DVD's from 1,000 acre managed deer farms in Iowa, but it's not real life where most of us hunt in Central Wisconsin.
P.S. After the close up, who wants to bet that buck was bouncing off of trees and tripping over stumps until his eyesight came back??? HAHAHA

Not a deer, I know, but this is 25 yards from a stand. Hoping I draw a WI bear tag next season.
