Crop Harvest Repot?

Well it seems as if there are only a few Iowa hunters on this forum, but I'm hoping that more will beginto chime in soon.
 
What are the crops like in your area?
 
I live in Warren County and hunt a farm in Madison County. Beans are just begining to come out and I have seen very little work on corn.

I heard last week that only 13% of the corn in Iowa had been harvested. I am sure that is much higher now, but it is still way behind.

I'm from Minnesota and the corn harvest is way behind here as well.  I assume the hunting is better when the corn is harvested....yes?

Yes, at least from my perspective.

Things down in SW Iowa tend to pretty much be gone in the Lamoni/Davis City area.  A few corn and beanfields still left, but those are looking pretty scraggly so probably no hurry to get them out.
 
Interesting though, seeing winter wheat being planted for the first time in some of the recently harvested fields.

As of this morning's WHO crop report, only 50% of Iowa's corn has been harvested.

Given the weather forecast, I would not be surprised if a lot of it will be standing come shotgun season.

Last year we had farmers in our area leave corn standing until this spring.  Never seen that before, and I grew up with farmers.
