What about in the case of felons? Apparently a felon can bow hunt during the gun deer season.
Can a felon use a crossbow during the gun deer season to fill an archery tag?

It is my understanding that the archery tag is not valid during gun season. So a season appropriate Tag would be required (i.e. a gun tag is required during gun season).
From those who much is given, much is expected

Up until last year, that was the case.

No so. The achery tag is valid during the gun deer season. The only day the archery deer season is closed is the Friday before the gun season. You can also fill your gun tag with your bow.
