what happened to all my bucks?

Ok here's the story.... I am hunting a 38 acre piece of land it consists of a farm field with a marshy mossy conifer bush behind it . The field is bordered on the other side by a long grassy meadow leading into some mixed bush and farther off another field there is a small creek, that seperates the two properties and the deer are using the grassy forest fringes as a bedding area and coming to the corner of the field I am hunting.. I am set up 40 yards from this corner that has been a hub of activity all year and am seeing upwards of 4 or 5 every time I hunt but only does .... I missed a respectable buck on the archery opener (oct1) from a different stand about 60 yards from this one and I have not seen an antlered deer since in either stand... the pre rut is in full swing and I have does in every day feeding and travelling the creek edge and to the swamp and bedding areas but despite seeing all these deer no bucks. What am I missing ? Should I continue.hunting the does and hope they bring a buck in or go else where and figure out where my bucks have gone? There has been a group or 5 bucks around.all year and I havnt seen 1 in 3 weeks. Any advice is greatly appreciated ... thanks

If the does are there, then the bucks will be there. Simple as that. If you've got does around all the time, then you have the best buck lure/decoy/bait that you could ever want. Be patient. When the ladies are ready then the horndogs will be there right on schedule. They're guys, they can't help themselves!

Yes I tried calling and rattling with a rattle bag ... I could here deer fighting in the other field a few nights ago but my efforts didn't produce a response the last 2 days ....

I had the same problem this weekend so your not alone the October lull kicked back in thanks to the warm temps early in the week. we only had one trail cam pic all last week of a 4 point buck . I spent 9 hours on stand this weekend, (wish it could have been 16) but not a lick of buck activity last night or this morning and i had a total of 15 does come around in the two sits. I`m afraid they will be ready when i`m not this year I hear stories that others are seeing heavy chasing but I have`nt seen any in central Iowa yet.
