I'm no guru either. I still can't figure out how to make links, however...this is simple. find your photo in your files. right click page down to "open with"
click on "paint" your picture will be displayed life size and pixel size will be displayed at the bottom of the page.
Now top left, click on "resize" a screen will come up showing horizontal and vertical at "100". (This is the picture as it is.) You want to shrink it. So, click on "100" and delete it. put in a smaller number (like 25) and hit "ok" this version of your pic will now be 1/4 the height X 1/4 the width.(windows 7 automatically adjusts the second adjustment when you adjust the first.)Your displayed pic will be smaller. Now go to top left and click on "paint" (looks like a SD card) It will give you options on what to do with the new pic. and what kind of copy to make it (Jpeg, bitdot, ect...) jpeg is good for here.))
You will need to rename your photo if you wish to keep the original and the copy, otherwise, it will replace the original with the copy. A large pic shrunk looks fine, but a small pic blown up looks pretty bad. So keep a good copy.
Then when you post it, just make sure you select the right (smaller) version from your files. A little practice, and you will find it quite simple.
