Hard to believe they're not denying it anymore...

Maybe they'll come out with "Its a mutated bobcat" or a "large housecat"

We encounter the same deniability here with panthers and bears

the IL DNR actually confirms that it is a cougar/mt lion/whatever you want to call it.

I've never been clear on this question: If this cat walks past my treestand, can I shoot it?

I interpret this part of the article to mean you can shoot them...

"Because there is no breeding population in the state, cougars are not listed as a protected species, as are gray wolves, bobcats and other mammals not governed by hunting seasons in Illinois."

I'll tell you this much....if that thing tries to join me in a ladder stand, I will pin his tail to the ground from the inside.
The only real difference between a good tracker and a bad tracker is observation. All the same data is present for both. The rest is understanding what you are seeing.

This bar I used to frequent many years ago was FULL of cougars. Dangerous too!

This pic appeals to me on so many different levels.....she hunts, she butchers and eats her own game, and she INVOLVES HER KIDS IN IT!
