The bottom line of this story is that I gutted a big 10-pointer on Sunday, having passed on smaller one the previous Sunday.
Here's the rest of the story:
Twilight Zone Buck
In retrospect, I'm still happy I passed on the ML buck. It's taken over 30 years to get to the point where I feel confident enough to pass on a decent buck, knowing the best is probably yet to come. That's a good feeling. It has also taken 30 years to get to the point where I realize that deer camp is probably more important to me than any one hunt. I would have been miserable this November, if all I had to do was go out and finish filling the freezer.
