watched rut activity today

Went out this morning after a small rain band moved through, I got out at 9;00, when I turned off the highway onto gravel I was happy to see a large doe with a buck in hot pursuit running through a cut cornfield. I really could not judge his size but his beams were big enough to fit at least three points on each. VERY nice to see action.

Also got caught by a buck sneaking out of a timberline while i was standing in the wide open at 11:00 am. where he stood was only 64 yards from me. ohh so close. this ground stuff is hard hard work. but it is nice to be able to cruise a bit myself. Maybe the weekend will be good with a massive cold front coming through Saturday through Monday.

Neat stuff isn't it?
2 years ago I saw just about every textbook rut activity I could think off.
I had read stories, seen stuff on the telly, but to watch it live added a whole new perspective.

I still haven't caught two bucks locking horns though. Maybe this year
