Poaching...

Postby PrairieShadow » Thu Nov 13, 2008 2:52 pm

One of my hunting buddies is fortunate enough to have a conservation officer as a neighbor.

For the last 2 weeks everytime im over there to pick him up or frop him off from a hunting trip the Warden has a different poached deer in the back of his truck. some have the antlers cut off and some are just doe with their scent glands cut off. I guess i always knew it was a problem but didnt realize to what extent it was a problem.

Id bet there have been over 2 dozen different animals in the back of his truck.

anyone else experience anything like this?

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

It's ridiculous what some people are capable of.

Its amazing how many people wont bother to buy a license until after they have killed a deer. i wish there were more dnr officers located near me cause i think too many people get away with this bs. now this makes me sick.. theres been people in my county that have taken a spotlight and just went out and shot deer for the hell of it, its just the most despicable thing. i think people like that should been throw in a mental institution cause obviously they aint got 2 cents to figure out how blessed they are to live in a country that allows you to legally hunt to best game animal in the world!

I hunt in Wisconsin where I think we are way to under manned at the game warden position.  I've hunted for over 20 years and have never seen a game warden in the field or even fishing.  I cant even begin to imagine how many people are getting away with poaching.  It makes me sick.

Yep we are very undermanned here as well. One to a county and if the counties are one of the less populated ones then they get to cover 2 counties.
