Hopefully this coming weekend won't be a total washout; I have Monday off to hunt as well. I'm hoping the cold front pulling away will have Mr. & Mrs. Whitetail on their feet!!

They say the rut is on , but I havnt seen anything but a small yearling a half hour before dark last night , I wonder if they are locked down. Last weekend I saw bucks on does and bucks cruising maybe that was the rut, because nothing happening lately

today, saturday the 10th I got on stand at noon. by 1 the sun was out and the wind picked up, sat til 4.30 when 4 yearlings came out of the brush and walked by at ten yards, where are the big ones are ??? ,I don"t know,. it seems like they are nocturnal or locked down , haven"t seen any decent deer since last saturday. makes for long days in the stand. I hope it picks up soon:)

All of the big boys and bucks are cruising early in the morning, till around 11, or they find a doe to hang out with.

Doesn't pay to hunt the evenings unless you're set up on trails that does use regularly and hope that one is in heat and a buck is following her.

100% of my daylight photos of bucks are from 6:30 am to 10:30am, with it peaking from 6:30 to 7:30am.

Gafrage - interesting info about the buck movement. I dont have cameras, but the activity Ive seen on stand is consistent with your report about morning movement. Cant wait for gun season. This is the closest thing I have to that "Christmas morning" feeling as an adult!
