Turkey hunting from deerstand?

Have you huted turkey from a deerstand?

My stand is homemade. 4X4 platform with rails, that puts my feet about 12' off the ground.

Since I have been in this stand watching for deer, I have had the pleasure of watching turkeys forage for food all around ( and underneath) the stand in both the mornings and evenings.

I had whiled away the time thinking about where I would put a ground blind or sit in a gillie suit during turkey season when it finally occurd to me: DUH! Why not just hunt from the stand?

So, has this worked for you?

Has it backfired?

I've never hunted turkey out of a tree stand, but I think I might after this fall because i've seen close to 20 turkey while hunting this fall.
