Anybody ever hear of a Remington 660 .308 scout rifle?
A family friend GAVE one to my son yesterday.
It's shorter than most rifles. 38 inches total length, 20 inch barrel.
Scope sits further down the barrel too.
Bolt action, probably holds 4 - 1 rounds. Haven't tried to looad it yet, so not sure.
Gave him two 20 count boxes of ammo too.
The way the scope is set up though, you can move your head around and cause the crosshairs to swing side to side. I mean, every other scope I ever looked at, you had to line up with the scope and be fairly close to it too. Move your head a bit, and your view dissapears. But with this scope, you can look through it with your face further away, and moving my head 1" to eiother side only causes the angle that I see through the scope to change, but does not cause the view to dissapear.
So, what can you tell me about this gun as far as hunting is concerned?
Seems like it's a heartache waiting to happen.
