Went to the range this late afternoon with my deer hunting partner. I picked up a beautiful Winchester 94 in .44 Mag some time back, and was dying to try the Hornady Lever Revolution in .44 Mag, and wow.
Shooting from a solid rest at 25 yards with iron sights, the rounds were nearly going thru the same hole on the target. I moved back to 50 yards, and again, from a solid rest, the groups were spectacular. Pretty incredible since I have nearly no expreience with open sights. From the time I`ve been hunting, all my long arms have been scoped with Leupolds.
At 51, with my eyesight beign what it is, along with no experience with iron sights, I`m really sorry now that I haven`t scoped this rifle. I`d wanted to keep the cowboy look, but should have scoped it.
Anyway, the Lever Revolution ammo in .44 Mag was outstanding thru my beautiful little Winchester 94.
