no tarsal staining yet?

What scares me about ehd sailfish is what the DNR will do with that info going forward there is no way everyone is going to be happy next year if say we only have 80,000 deer killed compared to last years 129000.

I took an afternoon trip out to some new public land today, land that i know had good water all year no exposed shoreline of any kind during the drought. I sat from 3;00 till 5:30 saw 9 does while hunting, along the gravel roads driving out i saw another 15! a few singles but mostly groups. do`nt know how the bucks are going to breed them all! what a difference.

Well this settles it. not much for a stain but his tarsal glands were working fine!

That staining is natural and that way all year. Even some does have that. The staining I was refering to, is when it runs down and stains all the way down to the hoof, and being almost black. I'll have to see if I can find some of my pics that have some.

Man, that's a lot of waisted deer, what a shame.

Getting back to tarsal staining, here is a pic of a buck with tarsal staining that goes from the gland all the way down to the hoof. When someone mentions tarsal staining this is what I think of. Yes, it's generally on older bucks, and it has no benefits to hunting. Someone asked about it and here it is.
