Just pull the hang-on up on a rope once you are up there, and you have a good safe work platform to hang and adjust the stand to your liking. Put the screw in steps in as you go down, or if you use climbing sticks, leave the lower set off, and bring it with you for hunting. That way, messing with your equipment, is much harder to do.
