Figuring out the age of guns

I am wondering if anyone knows of a website that will tell you how old your gun is if you type in the make, model, and serial number.

Some manufaturers websites can tell you the age (year it was made) from the serial #.

I received the year my Remington 30-06 pump is by contacting Remington,I sent them the model number and serial number then they emailed me the year is was made.
I'm sure others have the same type of service in one way or another.
