2013 Kentucky Trip

Postby mhouck06 » Wed Jul 03, 2013 5:08 am

Heading to Kentucky this year.. Right now, these are our options.
We are planning a September hunt.
Anyone have any experience with these places?
Shaman or anyone else... can you recommend anywhere else that would be worth looking at..

Been learning a lot off of Kentucky Hunting forum... Threw in the towel on our kansas trip, so we have more time to explore this. Heading down soon to scout some places out.

Sorry I did not see this sooner.

Try going to http://www.kentuckyhunting.net/forums/forum.php . There's guys there that are bound to have more experience at the sites you've picked.

What I can tell you is that KY is not easy hunting in September. It's still pretty hot, and everything is in full foliage. When I was still bowhunting, I usually held off until the first weekend in October.

if this helps you out any, i hunt the Daniel Boone here. i have seen my biggest bucks on public land compared to farms around here. yes, the hunting is really tough on public land. But one thing i've noticed is the buck to doe ratio is better, mainly because a'lot of the hunters round here shoot the first deer they see.. normally a doe. if your looking for a way to bag a big buck in early September. I've had lots of luck sitting at ponds when its really hot. you would be really surprised on what big bucks are lurking in the public land here! i hope that i helped you out!
