It sounds like this is dead in the water for 2013. The Senate wont be taking it up. If the bill gets improved (modified) there might be time to take in up in the Senate this fall so it could happen in 2014 but not this year. This is a smart move. Its more important to get this done right than to get it done fast. I can see a bit of room for improvement to the bill and when that happens, this bill will advance. Then WI will have bowhunters and crossbowers and they will be statutorially sperated in weaponage, season, license, regestration, ect.

I like the bill and I like giving the crossbowers a season of their own without negatively impacting bowhunting by making them separate in all regards. Certainly the season will overlap in time frame but bowhuting already overlaps with many hunters and seasons like bear and turkey and gun deer hunts, etc. None of those are bowhunts and neither would this newly created crossbow season. Im all for it.

Contact committee members and ask them to support the Moulton amendment to further improve this already good bill. :)

Congrats to the Wisconsin bowhunting community for todays bowhunting preservation bill being advanced. It looks like in 2014 crossbowers will have their own season untied to the bow season (it shouldnt be linked to the bow season) A outstanding version of the bill advanced today. Congrats bowhunters. :D

Thanks for the effort !!!
Crossbow hunting should not be aloud during Archery season.
Why are these crossbow hunters constantly trying to de-grade the Archery hunters.
Common sense would go a long way.

Maybe they are learning the tactic from the bow hunters themselves. It seems to work.
