scrapes/rubs tree species

Postby lil wrangler » Sat Aug 31, 2013 9:32 am

If you haven't checked out the online show D&D does on here on Wednesdays, you are missing out. Super good info from those guys, w/lots of giveaways! I watched some of the archives last night, and made me wonder what species of trees bucks like to rub and scrape and lick? They answered the scrape part. In my area, it's oaks, maples, and other hardwoods they like to browse. I'm in N.E. Oklahoma, we have ALOT of hackberries on my farm, are the just shade for bucks or do they like these trees too? Does anyone from this region know if bucks rub certain species, or just use any smaller tree along their travel paths? Also, where is the best place to look for or create mock rubs? Back in bedding areas, just off fields, etc? Any and all advice, as always, is very appreciated.
Also, it's opening football Saturday, so...BOOMER SOONER!! :D

Yep!
I LOVE those shows.
Listen to them when I'm working.
