New to forum, new to hunting.

Postby dezzy » Wed Oct 16, 2013 5:00 pm

Hey everyone! I've been really interested in hunting lately, I was never taught as a kid and I'm completely new to it all. I've always loved fishing, hiking, anything to do with being outside, I just never got the chance. Anyway, I'm from Massachusetts, but I'm in the Army and stationed in Georgia, so if anyone has any tips about hunting in that region I'd love to hear them! Right now I'm lookin into buyin a rifle, I've narrowed it down to the 30/30, and hopefully I'll be ready to go out next year. Bear with me on all my future new guy questions! :D

Ask away! The only thing we like more than talking about deer hunting is doing it!

And I thank you for your service also!

Welcome. Let me give you some new guy answers:

1) Yes
2) No
3) No, not inside 50 yards
4) Sometimes, but you will need to waterproof socks.
5) 15

I hope these help. Feel free to mix and match as needed.

Also, thanks for your service! Which military installation in Georgia? If it's Fort Stewart or Hunter AAF, I might be able to point you in some directions. I used to live in Hinesville, Savannah, and went to college at Georgia Southern, so I'm pretty familiar with those areas.
