Seeking by mature bucks has begun by me. Got my first mature buck on camera Wednesday morning at 3am.

A nice 10 pointer 17" wide, not heavy by any means, but a big bodied deer.

Hold on to your hats, the next 3 weeks should be crazy.

Had a shooter on cam at 9:35:55 this morning, finally am starting to get my big boys on camera too, good luck to everyone. Saw 5 bucks tonight chasing does including a nice 8 point 17" with 10" tines. Came in to my grunting rattling sequence, got distracted by does...

i hunt in columbia co. i have a bunch of night time photos of some decent bucks. only a few daytime pics of them. sunday morning a decent buck came in but it was just a little to dark yet, and I didn't feel comfortable with the shot, so I didn't take it. I said to myself , couldn't you wait another 5 minutes to come in.. other than that i have not seen any in my last 6 or 7 sits. wich is close to 30 or more in the stand. I hope it picks up soon.

Hunted all weekend. Friday night seen 2 little bucks pushing some does but no real chasing. Still have not seen any mature buck movement on camera. Checked trail cameras and have one new mature buck checking scrapes just before light in the morning. SHould score around 140". Just a matter of time before we will see some daylight movement. This weekend should be good. Taking off Friday and Monday from work the rest of the month. Good Luck everyone.

Pretty quiet around here lately, everyone must be sitting in their stands instead of posting. Went up to the Three Lakes area to set up my stand for the gun opener. Saw some small scrapes and rubs. Didn't see many deer kills on my way up, probably only 5 or 6 in the 190 miles I drove. Not sure there is much movement going on yet. Which is good for me since I only gun hunt. Set up my camera near one of the scrapes, so we'll see what happens. Supposed to get 6-8 inches of snow this week up in that area. Still a lot of foliage up in that area, the late spring is still showing it's affects. Good luck everyone.

IT'S HERE!! Well the start of it anyway. I've hunted every day since Oct. 30 and I'm finally seeing bucks. On Saturday Nov. 2nd I saw a nice 2 1/2 year old 10 point come in at 10AM and then on my evening hunt I saw 6 deer and 5 of those were bucks! All of them were small except for a 3 1/2 year old 130" 9 point that I ended up passing on at 20 yards. On the morning of Nov. 3rd I saw 8 deer and once again 5 of those were bucks! One of which looked like he might've been a shooter but I only got a quick look at him from 250 yards out. From what I could see he was a big bodied deer that had a wide and massive rack. Hopefully he comes back soon and give me a shot. I went out this morning and sat until the rain started. I saw 3 bucks. Two of them were 1 1/2 year old 8 points and the other was a nice 2 1/2 year old 8 point. They're starting to move so I know where I'll be the rest of the week!

On another note, I was able to get a nice mature doe on the ground on Sunday Oct. 27th. My 3-blade Rage did the trick and did it quick! She only ran 30 yards before tipping over. The blood trail was easy to follow and after field dressing her I found out why. My arrow passed right through the heart! So now that I got some meat in the freezer it's time to completely focus on big bucks! Here is a picture of me and my doe. Good luck everyone! It's getting better everyday. Hunt hard and Hunt safe!

Nice doe...way to go.

Im new to blogs and this is my first time doing it so please excuse me if i seem a little off. I gun hunt zone 3 out of Cornucopia WI and was wondering if anyone is currently hunting or scouting that area ? If so, what have you been seeing ? im not sure what to expect for this year. I saw a few does last year at early light but after 15 yrs of hunting the area thats kind of normal. They seem to go nocturnal during gun season. I would like to hear what others in the area are thinking or seeing.
