Is this a mature 6 Point

Postby majormcdowell » Fri Nov 29, 2013 6:29 pm

Im pretty new to examining a buck to tell if it is mature or not. Im in need of help diagnosing this one, just looking for some basic opinions on it. Thanks.

I agree Woods. I'm noticing the long skinny looking neck and lack of a saggy brisket. On a mature buck you would expect the neck to look thicker and shorter compared to the rest of the body, and the brisket area begins to look looser and kind of like a wattle on a turkey...

Other indicators of a mature buck would be a saggy belly and a sloped back...can't see either of these in this picture though.
