Hey, it's not just with the spam! Several of the hunting magazines I receive, seem to have gotten pretty sloppy with their proof reading, along with the daily newspaper out of Charleston and our local, weekly fish wrapper/birdcage liner. I really tend to notice these things since my college degree is in Journalism.

I blame the spelling errors on the way we communicate today through e-mails and texts, and never mind the commercials on TV. It drives me crazy when I get messages that contain "OMG, LOL, K, R U, BRB, etc". I mean for crying out loud how much effort does it take to put the "O" in front of the "K" to let me know you're OK?

I saw a commercial the other day for Taco Bell advertising their new "grilled STUFT nacho" and if I see another commercial advertising something "Xtreme" I think I'll scream.

Everything is done on the computer these days no wonder the kids these days can't spell. My youngest daughter is in the 6 grade and they aren't teaching or requiring the students to use cursive writing anymore. The teachers want all their reports typed out on a computer and I actually think that if a student turns in a written report they're penalized for writing it in stead of typing it.

We went out to dinner and there was a clock with Roman numerals on the face and she asked me what was up with the clock. I asked her if she knew her Roman numerals and she look at me like I was crazy. I spent part of the dinner explaining how to use Roman numerals to count. I still think she thinks I"m nuts!

Sorry to rant, JMO! (just kidding)!

Thank the Federal Government and their intrusion into the educational process of our nation. First it was desegregation, which pulled students grades down, instead of raising them, then it was social promotion that eliminated the drive to succeed in the class room, then it was the acceptance of slang and street language that decimated the standards of proper grammar, next it was the acceptance of the abbreviated language of the text message and now it's the different models of punishment based on race. The new "core curriculum" will finally destroy the entire educational process, which will create a new group of kids who will grow up to vote for the socialism of the nation. We can thank the liberals of America for the dumbing down of our children and the country while increasing the voting base of the Democratic party and those liberal bastions of socialism who will eventually succeed in turning America into a third world country, while the Chinese take over as the leading nation of a socialist planet!

A lot of this spam comes from Asia, so the "language" their using isn't English, but in fact Engrish!

A prime example of the phrase..."Getting lost in translation"!!!

Kill Swiftly,
