Perfect Gift for Deer Hunter? Ideas Please

Postby fillytown » Tue Dec 17, 2013 2:49 pm

Hello hunters,

I am looking for gift ideas for a deer hunter. I know that he uses both bow and guns.
My price range is around $200.

He's a customer of mine, and he talks about hunting deer non-stop. Would be great if you guys can help me pick out a good gift which he would appreciate.
He lives in Southern Illinois.

That is all the information I have. Please help!

They're not $200 worth, but those boot blankets I mentioned in the Camo thread are great and usually nobody thinks to buy them for themselves.

Then there's the $8 thingus that has 25 ' of web strap on a reel for pulling up your rifle or bow

How about the $30 camo tree-stand umbrella that doubles as a blind.

lastly: Get him a pair of astronomical binos . Celestron makes a pair of 50X70's for $80 on SPortsmansguide.com that see for-freakin'-ever.

These are great ideas. However, I'm looking at getting only one item, preferably something high end. Something that will impress.

One item in the $200. Range, and one size fits all? A game camera.

Yes, that is what I was thinking. I don't know of any hunter that is not wanting another, even if they already have six of them. $200 will get a decent one.

LOL! If someone gave me a game camera for a gift I'd return it, as I have no use for them. But that said, if he's a "techie", then I guess that'd work.

Binoculars are also good, but $200 is not "high end" when it comes to optics.

You might also consider a laser rangefinder.

The only other items I can think of are clothing/boots, but it's hard buy stuff like that for someone, as it's usually a matter of very personal preference.

Yep, I'd go with a Cudde Back trail camera. Right now one model is selling for $199.99, and it's normally about $219.99. I'd certainly love to get one of those, myself. The perfect gift; however, would cost a hell of a lot more than $200.00 since it would be land!

My 2 thoughts were already mentioned....but I'll second (or third, or whatever) them anyway

A $200 trail cam would be super sweet.

A really nice laser range-finder would also be in the $200 range.

Sounds like an awesome gift idea!

Don't mind woods walker, anything more modern than fire gives him the heebee-geebees. ;)

It's not the "modern" that's the issue. I have plenty of modern gear, especially the optics and my THERMACELL(!!!!)

As far as cameras go I just don't need them. If I had one I wouldn't have any use for it. Kinda like an extra nose!
