12/6 weekend hunt

Postby Sailfish » Wed Dec 03, 2008 9:52 am

I have an archery hunt this weekend at Upper Hillsborough WMA.

First time there. Looks like i'll be doing some spot and stalk (deer/hog/turkey) Sat. a.m. and maybe p.m.
Hopefully Sunday maybe sit in my climber if I find a good area.

I know this, based on my last WMA hunt, I am going DEEEEEEEEEP into the woods.

Anyone else have a hunt going on?

Did some aerial scouting last night.
We're having a nne/nnw wind Sat am.
I figure to head deep towards the river, then either follow it or the railroad tracks north (depending on the wind) staying in the woods.

My buddy wants to hang along the edge of the tracks/woods. He feels that they are in the mood to hang there.

We'll see.

Nope. http://forum.deeranddeerhunting.com/tm.aspx?m=17860&mpage=1&key=&#17860

It is in Pasco County.
However I did learn quite a bit about the place.
I may even apply for muzzleloader next year. There are some fine animals in there (when they aren't strictly nocturnal of course).

The WMA's have their "drawings" around June.
I'll have to wait til next year.
