fortunately i have my own 58 acres around the house. all i have to do is walk out the door. I don't think I would hunt as much if i had to drive somewhere all the time.

DoeEyed thats great to live so close to your land that is what I would like to have some day. I had a buddy who built his first house on 6 acres that joined hundreds more acres, and it was some of the best hunting we ever did. It seemed like we were able to pattern the deer a little better just because every spare second we had one of us would be either hunting or checking the land..

I primarily hunt family farms.  All about 30-40 minutes away.  Used to hunt a small piece of property right behind my house but it was purchased.  I have a few spots closer to me but they are not as productive.

I'm not complaining (believe me), but it sure is a heck of a lot of work to scout, prep, and hunt my spot (almost 3 hours away).  At least it's private and it's all mine during bow season.

I'll have my own land close by someday.....

I only bowhunt on public land. The closest is about 40 minutes away.

3-4 hours depending on how many stops I have to make - 145 road miles to the best 100 acres in Missouri.
