Help on Whitetail hunting

I'm new at this whitetail hunting. I have a trip to Ada, Okl. on Dec. 16 and I need some advice. Are they in rut ? How do I hunt these bucks ? I only have a few days there on private land which doesn't have pressure.

I hunted in southeast Oklahoma over Thanksgiving. During that time they were in rut so now they should be in post-rut. I would suggest finding a food source such as persimmon trees which they love and hang a stand or use a ground blind leading to them or by oak trees or other food souces. Don't give up on a buck still looking to breed so finding does is always a good sign. The deer herd was very healthy in the area I hunted in and you should do well. Good luck.
