the only times i ever take a doe down is wen ive already harvested my buck with a bow then ill take a doe down for meat.

1. We do not buy beef.
2. We give a lot to friends and family.
3. Our Missouri neighbors are Amish. they have about a thousand kids. If I have any hold over meat left in the freezer when my new deer start coming in, I give it to them.

My wife and I will easily go through four deer a year and I butcher my own and get the most meat out of them I can. We also dont eat beef. We get bacon, ring bologna, brats, and hotdogs made and the rest is hamburger and steaks.

I dont buy beef either. I make everything you would normally make out of beef from venison.
 
I usually take between 4-6 deer a year.

I try to take does during bowseason and then I wait until the first saturday in december when we release the hounds to take any more.  Here they want us to take as many does as possible cause we are so outta whack it ain't even funny.  We get four does tags when we buy a license and if we fill them we can go back and get four more for free, so I take advantage and fill my freezers and what I can't use goes to feed the homeless

Yep and its very good. About half the grease!

When to shoot does:  early and often, anytime and often, late in the season and often
 
Shoot does with fawns:  same as above.  By the time hunting season rolls around fawns are able to fend for themselves.
 
My hunting spot is not the best for QDM.  First off, it's 3 hours away and it's not exclusively mine.  It is very flat and open....difficult for bowhunting.
 
I've been fortunate to have good success the last 6 years (1-2 deer per year), but did not kill a deer my first 5 years out there.
 
My point is, I'm not too picky when it comes to shooting does (or any non-fawn for that matter) out there.  I would like to start passing up young bucks, but like I said, it's awful hard with my scenario.
 
If I owned my own land, I'm sure I'd have no problem implementing QDM.
