I really appreciate those of you who are posting. Thank You!! I have tried cold turkey also Jdbllung, it does not work for me either. I get too stressed out. So my plan is to ween myself also. I threw out my ashtrays today and started smoking outside. Baby steps. Good luck to you Jdbllung!

You have to truly want to stop and then it will be easier.  When I stopped smoking I picked when I was on vacation from work.  When the urge hit I would jump on my bicycle and ride hard and get that natural high from working out.  I am a big work out guy and after I quit I got stronger, bigger and faster.  That was four years ago and I haven't looked back!

I smoked for 20 years and got sick of the hacking and coughing, especially in the deer woods. I quit cold turkey and my tolerance for BS went to zero for a little while but worth it, obviously. I was rewarded the next deer season (because of no hacking and coughing) with a nice 120 class 8 point during archery season.Image

I smoked for years. Started at 18, quit cold turkey about 8 years ago. I still like a swisher sweet and a beer around a camp fire. And when I,m driving a ways it starts to bother me.
