Helpful products

Postby Sailfish » Tue Jan 20, 2009 6:50 am

I figure a thread on helpful fitness products would be in order.

I have mentioned a good supplemental protein product in another thread.
(100% egg Protein is my number one choice, followed by EAS vanilla whey)

I recently ordered this little gadget. It's not needed but it makes the chunkies go away when mixing by hand. Its pretty convenient for the most part

My workouts are very dependant on on work:rest cycles. It is easy to cheat and rest too long if you are trying to monitor rest in your head of by your watch.

This product is, IMO, the most valuable training aid I have. www.gymboss.com

With using supplements, is there anything you can do to prevent the excess gas/odor?  A couple of the younger guys at work are using protein to build and the Lieutenants' office is kitty corner across hall so consequently the door is closed on certain days.  I have been out of the routine since my promotion and need to return but have never experimented with the supplements.  Egg protein?

Well, if your referring to the gas odor I think you are referring to I haven't found anything (actually I never looked for any). There used to be a product called Beano that might help.

I can say this though (based on my personal exp.) high protein is the basis of the odor, the catalyst is the carbs. Control excessive amounts of carbs and the gas incidences will decrease.

The tip of the day on the blenderbottle: make absolute sure that when you shake it vigorously while standing in the kitchen that the top is on...securely.

Just sayin

One of my friends bought 10lbs of 100% pure eggs whites. He said it was absolutely disgusting. He ended up putting little crystal light packages in it so he could get it down but he stopped using it all together. Dont forget this is a D&DH forum so we should be encouraging eating venison for protein!!!![:D]

Yes, but it does not mix well in shake form.

Sailfish, is the egg protein just pure eggs whites? how do you like it? My friend bought it because he said it was the highest form of protein you could get.

JPH, dehydrator and grinder[;)] (ps GSP put a whoopin on penn!)

Deercamp, after you said it tasted good I am actually looking forward to trying some. I bought the bsn no-xplode (awesome stuff)a long time ago and it came with a bunch of different suppliments including several different packs of protein. I never tried one since I have a bunch of other brands of whey and dont steadily lift weights currently.

I highly endorse the products in this link, http://www.rosstraining.com/packagedeals.html

The two books and the book DVD set are listed here as a package, but you can buy them individually as well. I own all three and I can not think of anything that has had a greater impact on my own fitness or my mindset as a trainer.
