1st Buck of the season

So my mom came home today, from her walk as she does every morning. However today she told me that she saw a nice buck. She said that the antlers were about 4"-5" already! She walks everyday and has a good eye for deer. I was happy to hear she already saw a buck this season, hope to see one soon myself.. Anyone eles been seeing any?

The wife and I were coming home from dinner last night and I saw two herds of I think 8 to 12 deer in each herd. I was driving so I couldn't tell if any were bucks and my wife could not care less. But I did finally see some..

Nothing yet DeerCamp. Seems way to early to be seeing even buds of antlers.
Usually see a few during Turkey season, but even then it is the later hunt.

Hunting the Michigan Thumbs agricultural mecca...farm country bucks taste the best.

We got pictures today with antlers showing already!

Still finding a few sheds, 4 Thursday and one spike today. Most bucks here are showing, saw one large bodied buck with 2 inch nubs already. He should be a peach this fall if the cars leave him alone!

Really??? Bucks already.
My camera has been out for a month now. Primarily scouting my leased property for Turkeys, but a few bucks in the viewer wouldn't be a bad thing. I haven't touched it since I put it out March 12th.
I had 7 bucks there last firearm season that I let walk. Hoping a few of them made it through. I know the neighbor didn't take any of them. We are both trying a little mini QDM. Only about 240 acres but all backed by a fairly deep river.
Gonna pull the cam on Thursday. Can't wait.....

I found a beautiful 5 pt. shed on Easter morning and them moved a group of deer out of a swale. One of the bucks was still carrying his right side (his first rack).

Well, I looked through all 328 pics on my trail camera that had been out since March 12th.
Good news....tons of deer. Didn't see visible antlers, a few short buds. Nothing spectacular.
Bad news....only two (TWO) pics of turkeys. Was really hoping for two every day....grrrrr!
