Taurus Raging Bull

Postby Nighthawk » Mon Jul 06, 2009 3:35 am

I need help here, I am considering purchasing a high powered revolver for big game hunting. A friend of mine told me that the Ruger is far superior to the Taurus Raging Bull models. To my understanding, the Taurus makes for a great range gun but stands no comparison to the Ruger's field capability. Is this true? or should I consider an entirely different weapon?

-Thanks

I can't speak for the taurus but I have a ruger redhawk .44 mag. and it's a great shooter. Father in law has a couple ruger blackhawks that shoot just as good if not better than mine. I don't think you could go wrong with a ruger plus I believe they are made in america and I'm pretty sure the taurus is made in brazil. Good luck with you're choice!

Taurus Quality has left much to be desired for a long time. You might end up sending it into taurus a dozen times before things are right, or you may never have a problem with it.

Personally im not willing to take that chance, Ill spend a little more money upfront to make sure i have a weapon that will serve me for many many years to come.

Get the ruger and check out some of the S&W's. They have some of the best triggers in the industry for out of the box handguns.
Hunting isn't a matter of Life or Death
Its MUCH more important than that!

I will say that the trigger on my ruger is a little stiff and the father in law has had his blackhawk triggers worked on.
