You better get it chambered in something you can handle.  I used to own a Lone Eagle chambered in 7mm-08.  It was accurate and had some kick to it.  If you're thinking .270, you'll have your hands full with that one.  Good luck.

I shoot a G2 in 30/30 ackley improved and it will reliably kill deer out past 200 yards (since it's a single shot i use spitzer type 308 bullets so retained energy and trajectory are more than adequate).
T/c's are cranky about headspace - see the reference to Mike Bellm.  If you reload you MUST full length resize or the "table" will wear prematurely resulting in an "auto eject" feature that is a bit disconcerting.  T/c will replace the frame once.
Mike doesn't think much of T/c barrels and he is right in that.  He can fix almost anything T/c can do to bugger one up.  If i had it to do over I would buy a frame and order a Begara barrel from Mike.

[size="2"]Just joined, and I do have a few Encore stuff. About 8yrs. ago traded all my Contenders for Encores. I hunt, some Sil. matches, and range shooting. I have 4 frames, brls. 223, 30-06, 357Max, 44Mag, 45-70SS 16" Mag-na ported, and 24" 45-70 rifle brl. W/creedmore sights. Love them all. I load my own ammo. All pistol brls. average 2.5" groups at 100yrds., trying to get 300yrds. out of the rifle at 2-4" groups, getting close BUT no cigar.
Enjoy an have fun. Strng
