Unlike stated in the Wisconson herd ...the (I believe) N.Y. herd are not concidered albino....but are a genetic pure white herd....something to do with having bred and inter bred in an inclosed area......I also believe that in albinoism that a diviation in a species pigment gene...animal or human.... does not make them inferior just differant as to their tolerance to the sun

Their ability to blend in with their surroundings, esp. in seasons that there isn't any snow would definitely be considered an inferiority.
I don't know about piebalds, but don't true albinos usually have problems linked to their genetic disposition that includes their albinism?

Hmm, I guess I was wrong. After looking up some more, the only inferiority other than camouflage is damage to eyes due to less protection by no/less pigment in their eyes.

True albinism is a complete lack of pigment. I imagine the genes dont get passed on too much because they dont live as long as regular deer, due to lack of camoflage. I'd shoot one if I saw it.
