Can You Age a Deer With This Jaw?

The peaks are slill on the molars, I would have to say 3 -4.

Hard to say without knownig where it comes from, forage can play a part in tooth wear, judging from the wear on the front teeth and lack of wear on the molars, I'd guess 3-4 years.

I say the deer is over 6 years old.. Has all it's teeth and all teeth are well formed and they look well used over the years..

I'm going 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 too.

My guess is the deer was well over 8.5 years. Perhaps 10.5 or more. And probably not a wild deer.

I normally don't age past 3.5, so I may be way off but he looks to be worn down a little more than a 3.5 year.  I would like to be able to feel the wear to be more sure, but I'm guessing 4.5 possibly 5.5.

It appears this is the jawbone of a deer over 6.5 years old.

I am guessing 4.5 to 5.5.  Not enough wear on the molars.

I'm guessing 2.5-3.5.  Leaning more towards 2.5.  Hardly any wear.

I said 3.5-4.5 before looking at the comparison but the teeth on the example compared to the others on the link i would say 6.5-8.5 the jaws are almost identical. At least to me they look that way.
