Jogging.....

Postby coach » Tue Apr 14, 2009 4:29 pm

I've been jogging for the last month.  I've always been doing approx 3.7 km.

Tonight I ran 5.3 and could of kept going....not much more ...but still a little.

Took me almost the same time as 3.7 km.

Now either I'm getting better or I run faster cause it was getting dark...and we have big
wabbits here with big teeth. [;)]

I'd say not only are you getting better but you may have hit the runners zone AKA "endorphin rush"

Amazing feeling when that happens

Great job Coach...I run about 3 times a week...roughly 3-5 miles..I hate running but I have to do it and I manage to keep in shape doing so. Probably the best cardio you can do. Keep at it, I'm betting by Oct 2009 your hitting your 5K in 30 mins [;)]  try chaning up your routine too...maybe do interval training every other workout.

One year during track in high school I tried out for the long distance team.  A buddy and I were training one day and we did a 10 mile run.  I remember hitting just past the 5 mile mark and both of us got the "runners high" about the same time.  When we finished the run, both of us felt like we could have easily gone another 10 miles.

Good for you coach! I had been running a lot.. I was running around 3-5 miles a day, however school and work have gotten in the way. Sadly Ive put on about 3 pounds since Ive stoped running..Maybe with summer coming again its time to pick it back up.

When I started jogging ealier this spring....like I said...I ran....lets see...3.7 km (2.29 miles) in 26 minutes.  Tonight I actually beat my own record.  5.3 km (3.29 miles) in 28 minutes.

This is not much for someone in shape...but being 35 years old with a round shape...I'm happy.
Now I want to beat 25 minutes.
