New year's resolutions. How's it going?

Postby JPH » Tue Jan 27, 2009 2:37 am

Well we are 27 days into the new year. I think some of us have resolved to become more fit this year, but many begin to back off on their goals around this point.

So how is it going? Are you seeing any progress on the scale, in your waistline, or in the gym? Are you frustrated?

Please share with us so we can be of some encouragement!

As for me, I am happy with where I am because I have managed to stay injury free. Here's hoping that holds up because I'm going to start training BJJ again this week. [8|]

So far so good.  I've lost 5 pounds, my goal is a total of 15.  My strength training is coming a long pretty good, considering I haven't touched a weight in 4 years.  I still need to work in some cardio.
The biggest thing that has helped me is not eating after 6:30 at night.

So far, so good. Been makin it to the gym at least 4 days a week. I can tell my muscle tone is improving but need to do more stretching for flexibility. My mentality has improved as well along with better sleep. Hope everyone else is having success. Stick to it!

So far so good.  I'm down 11 pounds this month (208 to 197).

Eating A LOT better....and a lot less!  I'd like to get down to 185-190 by May (softball season).

I'm also starting the 100 push up challenge.  We'll see how it goes.

I vowed no more tequila on weekends until the wifes big birthday dinner March first.
I almost made it one weekend.
But I have moved up to two cardio sessions a day a couple times a week to offset my weakness to the calling.
However after the birthday NO more tequila until my yearly June dudes only fishing trip in the keys.

Give me strength.

Once again, how are we tracking on our goals?

Anyone need a motivation boost? Anyone deserving of a pat on the back?

This sort of post is also known as a shameless bump.

I have been running a mile almost everyday, along with my regular weight lifting workouts. I started at a 10 1/2 min mile, I am now down to a 8 min mile. Back in the day I was doing a 6 1/2 min mile so I am trying to get back to that. I have noticed I have been able to increase the amount of weight I lift since I have begun taking protein supplements. I can really see the difference. I was at a stale mate for quite sometime but now I feel like I have been able to break through it and make some more changes!

I haven't even got started yet, I've never had a problem getting motivated to run or workout.  I just keep putting it off.  I'm going to start on monday.

Well. I weighed in yesterday at 190!....down from 208 on Jan 1....and 212 last Fall.  I'd like to get to 185 before May.

I have some before and after / current pics of myself, but am hesitant to share them (might scare folks off the website....[:D])

No real traction on the push ups thing.  I've done some, but nothing significant yet.
