Here's a good way to cheat and still have awesome chili.
Throw two nicely dressed, trimmed squirrels in the slowcooker and leave them alone for about 6 hours or until the meat is falling off the bone.
Take 'em out, let them cool some and then pull all the meat off as large pieces as you can.
At your local supermarket, see if you can find a line of soup mixes by a company called "Bear Creek" Pick their "Darn good Chili Mix" Follow the directions and throw in the squirrel meat.
