Scent Loc Found Guilty Of False Advertising

According the the Federal District Court Judge, what got Scent Loc in trouble was their claims that their products used "odor eliminating technology" and/or "odor eliminating clothing" which the court ruled were FALSE. An injunction was also issued against Scent Loc, Cabela's, and Gander Mt. from "further deceptive practices" in regards to odor eliminating clothing.

The judge also ruled that advertisments that use the terms/phrases:

"Odor eliminating technology"
 
"Odor eliminating clothing"
 
"Eliminates  all types of odors"
 
"Odor elimination"
 
"Remove all odor"
 
"Complete scent elimination"
 
"Scent free"
 
"Works on 100% of your scent 100% of the time"
 
"All human scent"
 
"Odor is eradicated"
 
"And graphics demonstrating that human odor cannot escape the carbon embedded fabric, ARE ALL FALSE STATEMENTS AS A MATTER OF LAW".
 
 
Bottom line? They've been LYING to you all these years. This goes beyond having some Antler Porn star pimping a lure or a call that he claims he killed his latest Booner with, and that he heartily endorses. Anyone who buys into that garbage deserves to be skinned. What Scent Loc did was pure lies and falsehoods. That said that their product would do what it cannot in no uncertain terms. "Forget the wind and just hunt", "it eliminates human odor"....HOGWASH!

I hope they get sued out of existance.

I own a small business. I guarantee all my work for 3 years, unless otherwise stated in the contract. If I don't stand by my work and what I guarantee, then I deserve to be shut down. It's bad for small business, and it's bad for my industry. The hunting gear industry is no different.

What does that have to do with it? The people that make the ghillie suit have never made ANY claims as to what they will or will not do. That's up to the consumer to decide. What you see is what you get.

If the ghillie suit maker claimed that it made you invisible, THEN you'd have a comparison, but they don't. They don't even claim that it'll make the deer need glasses to see you! [:D]

I know your position on the "regeneration issue", to which, I agree.  What do you make of the judge siding slightly with Scent Lok on regeneration? I would think that issue was cut and dry, wonder why the judge is hedging. What do you think?

Without seeing the court documents and the judge's written opinion I really don't know.

But I have a hunch that it may be because Scent-Loc never stated HOW MUCH it regenerates, just that it can regenerate it to a degree.

i heard from a salesman at cabelas he said carbon can be regenerated for a short time then it is useless no more regenerating will be wore out, he said this over a year ago when i was looking at coats it's all hype, look at silvermax never wears out made with real silver does'nt need reactiveating don't know if it's true but look it up on web i started buying on internet after season ended for next year i'll let you know how i think it works this season.
