Anyone ever see the deer hit turnips and rape and leave the peas alone early?

Postby wolfcliff » Tue Sep 22, 2009 5:10 pm

To my amazement, I arrived to hunt last weekend ovor the downwind edge of my MO plot. I thought that maybe I had a burnt spot in the field of otherwise awesome looing oats and winter peas. The turnips and rape are in small circles all down the middle of a 5 acre plot. These deer had eaten an entire patch of the rape.

Well after actually hunting the plot , i discovered it was groundhogs eating the turnips.. the deer were hitting the winter peas and oats really well.

Stupid pigs, I hate em. They'll ruin a good hunt quick!!! I started selling the pig meat to the local Mexican restaurants. They seem to love it and at $0.50 lb why not. It helps pay for my lease every year.
