Lets SEE your deer rifle.

Postby USN_Sam1385 » Fri Aug 21, 2009 7:55 pm

I hunt with a bolt action .270:
Remington 700 XCR (Xtreme Conditions Rifle)
Nikon 6080 Titanium 5.5-16.5x Scope.
Harris Swivel Bipod
Tactical Strap
Elastic Rifle Cartridge Holder

If I am hunting on the side of a field I will leave the bipod on. If I am hunting in a tree I will take it off.

My Custom Marlin 336A .30-30
Factory Laminate Stock
WWG "Happy Trigger"
DRC SS Follower
WWG Bear Proof Ejector
Action Polish
Bushnell Legend 2-7x32
Leupold QRW Rings
Custom Carved Leather Buttstock Cover and Sling by Leather Gun Leather Works (on order) will replace the spandex one.

Gun is named The Grey Wolf, and thats what is being carved on the cover.
Shoots Hornady LE 160g well and Remington 170g PP very very well. I was working on a trapper project and this gun would not stop haunting me till I decided to work on it.  Since then it has become my favorite gun by far and turned into the wolf you see before you. OOOOOOooooooooooo.....

I like it... a lot. I have always wanted to get a LA 30-30. One of these days... Probably when my boy is old enough, and wants his own rifle. Good rifle to start a younger kid on. Great rifle to keep shooting til your 80 too..

I just picked up a Spikehorn for my daughter this week. It is a youth model with a 16" barrel. She is only 2 so it will wait for her for a few years.[;)] I really enjoy the levers, mostly because its what dad and gramps have used. I have a few bolts as well, but have a really nice collection of .30-30's going at the moment. Like your rig as well. Thanks for the kind words.

Browning BAR .30-06, topped with T/C Hawkin Hunter 1.5-5X32 scope, shooting Hornaday SST 165 gr. interlocks.
As you can see, quite lethal at 100 yards!
